8. Cornell DeWitt – Art in Real vs Online

For 25 years, Cornell DeWitt has been at the forefront of connecting audiences and art. Since co-founding one of the first online art galleries in 1995, he has also owned and operated an eponymous gallery in New York, acted as director of Yvon Lambert gallery in New York, curated exhibitions and advised private collectors. His senior leadership roles have included director of PULSE Contemporary Art Fair in Miami and New York, Vice President of Business Development at Artnet, and Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at Collectrium, a Christie’s company. Among his current projects, Cornell DeWitt is the Publisher and Co-founder of Daily Plinth – the first platform dedicated to discovering and promoting video content produced by the art world, and Acting Managing Director of Bower Blue – a digital strategy and content production agency for the visual arts.

In this episode we will talk about the art market, art fairs and galleries under the lockdown and the role of digital or viewing rooms in this situation. He will share his love for art and precisely Jasper John’s American Flag.
