Todd Hido is an American photographer known for his pictures of suburban landscapes taken during solitary, long drives. He also produced interior photos and portraits using a wide range of pros and amateur cameras. His style is summed up in one of his famous quotes “I shoot like a documentarian, but I print like a painter.”His photographs are in the permanent collections of the Getty, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, New York amongst many more.
We’ll discuss here about his creative process in general and under the lockdown as well as his experience with the situation. Moreover he Todd Hido will talk about his vision of photography and today’s society using the examples of Walker Evans or Dorothea Lange.

Le photographe Roger Ballen présente l’exposition qu’il a conçu avec le peintre et dessinateur néerlandais Hans Lemmen. UNLEASHED se tient au Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature du 7 mars au 4 juin 2017.

Ces deux artistes sur leur support respectif traitent depuis toujours des rapports entre l’homme et l’animal. Dans cette exposition, Roger Ballen et Hans Lemmen collaborent pour faire fusionner leur travail. Lemmen réinterprète les photos de Ballen en y ajoutant des dessins et peintures tandis que Ballen découpe les dessin de Lemmen pour les coller sur ses photos. Il en résulte un travail unique et inédit. L’exposition débute par une installation créée par les deux artistes et se termine par un documentaire de Saskia Vredeveld sur cette collaboration.


Photographer Roger Ballen presents the exhibition he designed with the Dutch painter and drawer Hans Lemmen. UNLEASHED is held at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature from 7 March to 4 June 2017.

These two artists on their respective supports have always dealt with the relationship between man and animal. In this exhibition, Roger Ballen and Hans Lemmen collaborate to merge their work. Lemmen reinterprets the pictures of Ballen by adding drawings and paintings while Ballen cut out the drawings of Lemmen to paste them in his photos. The result is a unique and unpublished work. The exhibition begins with an installation created by the two artists and ends with a documentary by Saskia Vredeveld on this collaboration.
